Staffing and managed services
When your people work under someone else's roof, the attendance record has to satisfy your client, your payroll and a contract-labour inspector at once.
Three audiences, one record
A deployed engineer's hours matter to the client who is billed for them, to payroll that pays for them, and to a compliance regime that wants a register in a prescribed form. When those three are maintained separately they drift, and the drift is discovered at the worst moment — usually an audit or a disputed invoice.
Contract labour adds a further layer. Where the Contract Labour Act applies, registers are the contractor's duty but the principal employer carries oversight and residual liability, so “that is the vendor's paperwork” is not an answer an inspection accepts.
How deployments are tracked
- 01
Sessions carry deployment and managing manager
The record knows who worked, where they were deployed and who supervised — the attributes every downstream audience needs.
- 02
Your org structure is mirrored
Departments and reporting lines are configured to match how deployments are actually supervised, so approvals route to the person who knows the work.
- 03
A manager approves it
The closed session lands in a review queue with its full context — who, which project, how long, which day. Approving takes a click, and the decision is recorded against the session permanently.
- 04
Registers export per client
The same sessions produce a per-client attendance export and the statutory register, so the numbers cannot disagree.
What changes
- One record reconciling client billing, payroll and the statutory register.
- Per-client registers exportable on demand rather than assembled under audit pressure.
- Approvals routed through the manager who actually supervises the deployment.
- Contractor teams tracked alongside employees with the same trail.
Where we would not oversell it
Workclave does not handle recruitment, candidate pipelines or contractor invoicing, and it does not file contract-labour returns for you. It is the attendance and approval record those processes rely on. Where you are the principal employer, satisfying yourself that a contractor's records are adequate remains your obligation.
Staffing & managed services — common questions
Are attendance registers different for contract workers?
Yes. Contract labour brings its own register set under the Contract Labour Act and rules — muster roll, wages register, register of workmen — maintained by the contractor with oversight duties on the principal employer.
Can a client see only their own deployed staff?
Exports are produced per client, so what you hand over covers that engagement rather than your whole workforce.
Can contractor teams be tracked alongside employees?
Yes — the same session and approval trail applies, which is what lets the contract-labour record reconcile against the hours that drive the invoice.
