Overtime cap
144 hours per quarter (s.7(1) second proviso, raised from 50 by the 2026 amendment)prsindia.org
Weekly off
One day per week. Notification S.O.20 of 19 June 2026 exempts registered establishments from ss.11(1) and 12(1) on condition that one day's paid weekly rest is given in rotation; s.12(3) (one whole rest day per employee per week) remains in forcelabour.rajasthan.gov.in
Women on night shifts
Prohibited by s.22 by default (“night” defined in s.2(11) as ≥12 consecutive hours including 10pm–6am), lifted for registered shops and commercial establishments by exemption under s.3(2)labour.rajasthan.gov.in
IT/ITES exemption
No IT/ITES-specific exemption exists. Rajasthan grants economy-wide exemptions to all registered shops and commercial establishments instead, so IT firms are covered as commercial establishments rather than by sectorlabour.rajasthan.gov.in

Notes on Rajasthan

  • The 2026 amendment raised daily hours to 10 but left the overtime section untouched — so hours 9 to 10 are permitted without being overtime-rated on the face of the statute. Take advice before relying on that reading.
  • Rajasthan is unusual in paying overtime at 1.5×, not the 2× most states apply.

Verify before you rely on it. State rules are amended by notification, exemptions for IT/ITES establishments are often time-bound and renewed separately, and the Labour Codes continue to be brought into force state by state. This page records what we could verify against a named source at the time of writing — it is general information, not legal advice, and it does not replace reading your state's current rules or asking your compliance advisor.

Keeping to these limits in practice

Limits are only enforceable against a record. Workclave captures every work session with its start, stop and breaks, applies your workspace's shift and break rules, and produces the statutory attendance register from the same data — so daily, weekly and overtime totals are computed as work happens rather than reconstructed at month end. Multi-state employers can configure rules per workspace.
