Education and EdTech
Teaching, content and operations staff working across campus, home and hybrid schedules — on a calendar that looks nothing like a corporate one.
The calendar is the complication
Education organisations run on academic calendars with term dates, breaks and institution-specific holidays that no default holiday list matches. Applying a generic calendar produces attendance percentages that are wrong for everyone, every term.
Staffing patterns add to it: faculty splitting time between teaching and content development, operations staff on campus, EdTech teams fully remote. A tool that assumes one working pattern forces the others into a shape that misrepresents them.
How mixed patterns are handled
- 01
Academic calendars are configured per workspace
Term dates, institutional holidays and leave types are set to match the calendar the team actually follows.
- 02
One record across campus, home and hybrid
Sessions work identically wherever they run, so on-campus and remote staff appear in the same view without a parallel process.
- 03
A manager approves it
The closed session lands in a review queue with its full context — who, which project, how long, which day. Approving takes a click, and the decision is recorded against the session permanently.
- 04
No surveillance on anyone's machine
No screenshots or keystroke logging — which matters in an environment where trust is part of the working culture.
What changes
- Remote, hybrid and on-campus staff in a single attendance view.
- Leave types and academic-calendar holidays configured per workspace.
- Attendance percentages computed against the right calendar rather than a generic one.
- No monitoring software running on staff devices.
Where we would not oversell it
This is staff attendance, not student attendance — Workclave has no student records, class rosters or LMS integration, and is not built to track learners. If you need student attendance, this is the wrong product.
Education & EdTech — common questions
Can we run different calendars for different departments?
Yes. Holidays and leave types are configured per workspace, so an academic department and a corporate operations team can follow different calendars.
Does it work for faculty splitting time between teaching and projects?
That is the standard session pattern — each block of work carries its own project, so teaching, content and administrative time separate cleanly without anyone estimating a split.
Is any monitoring software installed on staff devices?
No. There is no agent capturing screens, keystrokes or application usage. Sessions are started and stopped by the person doing the work.
