Tax declarations
Record each person's tax regime and investment declarations so Workclave can estimate monthly TDS.
What declarations do
Workclave estimates TDS (income tax deducted at source) each month. It uses the person's yearly salary, tax regime and declarations for the financial year (April to March).
The declaration fields
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Regime | New Regime or Old Regime. |
| 80C declared | Yearly amount under section 80C, such as PF, PPF or ELSS. Workclave uses up to ₹1,50,000. |
| 80D declared | Yearly health insurance premium. Workclave uses up to ₹25,000. |
| HRA rent paid (annual) | Rent paid in the year. |
| City type | Metro or Non-metro. |
Enter a declaration
- Open the person's Salary & Payroll page.
- Click Update declarations.
- Fill in the fields.
- Click Save.
Only workspace admins can enter declarations. Employees send their details and proofs to the admin.
The page says: “Declarations affect TDS calculations for the financial year. Submit before April or when joining.” The next payroll run uses the latest values.
Which regime is used
TDS uses the Tax regime in the person's salary details. Keep it the same as the Regime in the declaration. The 80C, 80D and HRA amounts reduce tax only under the Old Regime.
