Fix, change or remove a session
What to do when a session is wrong, how to view its details, and the rules Workclave applies to session times.
What to do when a session is wrong
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| You forgot to stop a session | Stop it now. Then tell your reviewer, so they can send it back or ask an admin to delete it. |
| The running session has the wrong project | Stop it and start a new session with the right project. Tell your reviewer about the short wrong one. |
| You forgot to start a session | Tell your manager. Adding past time by hand is not available in the web app yet. |
| A finished session has wrong times | Ask your reviewer to send it back with a note. A workspace admin can delete it. |
Adding or changing times
The web app does not yet have a form to add a past session or to change start and end times. The Edit session item in a session's ··· menu opens the session details only.
View session details
- Go to Sessions.
- Click ··· at the end of the row.
- Click View details.
The Session details panel shows the person, project and team, the Timeline, the Duration and any automatic lunch. A reviewer also sees Approve session and Reject with note for a session that waits for approval.
Delete a session (workspace admins)
- Go to Sessions and find the session.
- Click ··· and then Delete session.
- Workclave shows “Session deleted”.
Deleting cannot be undone. The session is removed from reports and from the approval queue.
Rules Workclave applies to session times
- A start or end time cannot be more than 5 minutes in the future.
- The end time must be after the start time.
- A session with a chosen end time cannot be longer than 24 hours.
- Each person can have only one running session.
- An approved session is locked. Only a manager or admin can change or delete it.
- Any change to a session sends it back to Waiting approval.
- A stopped session cannot be stopped again. Workclave shows “That session was already stopped.”
If your session is rejected
You get a Session rejected notification. It includes the reviewer's note, if they wrote one. Rejected time does not count in reports or payroll. Talk to your reviewer about how to record the time correctly.
