Getting started
Set up your workspace
Walk through the six setup steps after sign-up, then finish the recommended setup tasks for your workspace.
About the setup steps
When you sign up with a work email and create a new workspace, Workclave shows six short setup steps. You become the Workspace admin.
You can leave the setup and come back later. Workclave opens the step where you stopped.
Step 1: Who are you setting this up for?
Choose one option and click Continue.
| Option | Best for |
|---|---|
| Freelancer | One person. Workclave skips the projects step. |
| Small Team / Startup | A team with members, approvals and projects. |
| Agency with multiple clients | Client work. After setup, Workclave opens the clients settings page. |
Step 2: Organization Details
- Organization Name: required. This becomes your workspace name.
- What kind of business are you?: Company / other, Accounting / CA firm, or Agency / consultancy. See Choose your business type.
- Timezone: Workclave suggests your computer's timezone.
- Workweek: Mon–Fri, Mon–Sat or Custom. With Custom, click the days you work.
- Team Size: required.
Click Continue. You can change these later in Settings → Workspace.
Step 3: Invite Your Team
Type one email address per line. Click + Add another for more lines. Click Continue to send the invites, or Skip for now.
Invited people join as Members. You can assign departments and promote people after they join. See Invite your team.
Step 4: Attendance Settings
Under Approvals, choose Auto-approve, Approve daily summary or Approve each session.
Workclave saves this choice, but at present every finished session still goes to review. Plan for a manager or admin to approve sessions.
Under Breaks & Lunch, tick Auto-lunch deduction and enter the Lunch deduction (minutes). Workclave uses this number as the length of the automatic lunch break. Learn how it works in Workspace settings.
Step 5: Projects / Clients
This step appears for Small Team / Startup and Agency with multiple clients. Type a name for each project. Click Add project for more. Click Continue or Skip for now.
Only the project names are saved in this step. The billing option and the tags are not saved yet.
Step 6: Finish
You see Your team is ready. Click Go to Dashboard to finish. You can also click Open Session Timer or Invite More Members.
After setup: recommended order
- Add your holidays in Settings → Holidays. See Holidays.
- Add shifts in Settings → Shifts if you want late marks. See Shifts and late marks.
- Add leave types in Settings → Leave Types. See Leave types and balances.
- Create departments and choose HODs. See Departments and HODs.
