Getting started
Explorer mode for personal email accounts
Accounts made with Gmail and other personal addresses start in Explorer mode. Learn what it includes and how to create a team workspace.
What Explorer mode is
When you sign up with a personal email address, Workclave creates a private sandbox for you. It is named after you, for example “Priya's Workspace”. A banner at the top says You're in Explorer mode.
Personal addresses include Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, Outlook, Live, iCloud, Me, AOL, Mail.com, Zoho, ProtonMail and Rediffmail.
What you can and cannot do
- You can start and stop sessions and see your own hours.
- You cannot invite people. Explorer mode is for one person.
- The Team, Approvals and Reports menu items are hidden.
Create a team workspace
You need a work email address that you can open. Workclave sends a 6-digit code to it.
- Click Create workspace -> on the Explorer banner.
- In Enter your company email, type your work email address.
- Optional: type a Workspace name.
- Click Send verification email.
- Open your work inbox. Find the email “Your Workclave verification code”.
- Type the 6-digit code in Verification token.
- Click Verify and create workspace.
The code works for 20 minutes and for one try only. If you type it wrong, you see “Verification token is invalid or expired. Request a new verification email.” Start again to get a new code.
A personal address cannot create a workspace. Workclave shows “Personal emails (Gmail, Yahoo etc.) cannot create workspaces.”
