Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions people ask most about Workclave.
Is Workclave free?
Workclave has a free plan for small teams, and you can sign up without a credit card. See the pricing page for the current plans. Billing settings inside the app are not active yet.
Can I sign up with a Gmail address?
Yes, but you get Explorer mode, a sandbox for one person. To invite a team, you need a work email. See Explorer mode.
Who approves my sessions?
One reviewer, chosen by Workclave. It is a manager of your team or a workspace admin, never you. See Approve sessions.
Can admins track their own time?
Yes. Admins can start and stop sessions like anyone else. Their sessions go to another reviewer, because nobody can approve their own time.
Can I add time I forgot to track?
Not in the web app yet. Tell your manager. See Fix, change or remove a session.
Why does my session show a lunch break?
Your workspace uses automatic lunch breaks. When a session is long enough, Workclave adds a lunch break. See Workspace settings.
Do sessions waiting for approval count?
They count in reports, the timesheet and the attendance register. They do not count in payroll. Only approved sessions count as present days for pay.
Why is a day marked HD in the register?
HD means half day. The person logged less than 4 hours that day. See Attendance register.
We work on Saturdays. How does Workclave handle that?
Saturday hours are recorded and appear in reports. However, the register shows Saturday as H, and payroll counts only Monday to Friday as working days.
Does Workclave work outside India?
Yes, for time tracking, approvals, leave and reports. Payroll calculation is for India only today.
Can I call teams Clients and projects Vendors?
Yes. Choose Accounting / CA firm or Agency / consultancy as your business type. See Choose your business type.
Can Workclave calculate client invoices?
Not yet. Workclave gives you approved hours per client and project. Apply your rates and taxes outside Workclave. See Timesheets and client billing.
Can employees see payslips before payroll is approved?
No. Employees can download a payslip only after an admin approves the payroll run.
How do I get my data out?
Use Export CSV on Sessions, Download CSV on the Reports timesheet, and Export register for attendance. Each person can download their own data from Settings → Privacy & Data.
